Despite not having the means to purchase, I REALLY want this car. However, is $20K too much for a 10 year old Bimmer?

Meh, hard to say... I'd say it's a bit too much yes... On the other hand it's a 2005...

I say yeah but I'm in the UK where used BMW M cars ain't worth shit. You can get a E60 M5 for that kind of money here.

Other than the CSL that is the most desirable E46 M3 spec. However 19k is way too high for that many miles. I'd only pay over 20K for that car if it had less than 60k miles. CP all day.

I would say so.

If it had half the mileage it would be a fair price.

If it had less than 85k on it I'd consider. CP with that mileage!

The miles shouldn't concern you as long as it has been well maintained (meaning sticking to the schedule religiously/fully documented), not autoX'd, and hasn't had more than 2 owners.

Thats probably one of the most desirable packages (in a highly desirable color combo) for the E46 M3 and if the E46 market in the future acts like the E9 or the E30 market you are looking at a huge ROI.

That being said spending 5-6k more now you can get a similar car with half the miles.

I've been looking a lot lately - it's about time to move on from my old E36 M3.

Competition package E46 M3s are holding their value incredibly well.

Anything less than 75k miles is going for high $20s into the $30s. Yes, some are priced more than E9X M3s with similar or less mileage. And there aren't many out there.

Having said that, you're right - that's a ton of miles. You're talking a 30% discount for DOUBLE the miles.

CP all day. Too many miles to buy it to keep, too many miles to be able to sell it again after getting your jollies.

I just said most of this to Biggus, but...

I've been looking a lot lately - it's about time to move on from my old E36 M3.

Competition package E46 M3s are holding their value incredibly well. So this looks like a great price. I mean, it IS a great price.

M5s (and other large luxury sedans) depreciate much quicker than M3s.

Not here they don't. I can get a E90 for less too but if I had the choice between the two I would go M5 because V10.

You can get an E90 M3 in the UK for less than $19k US? Without a salvage title or 200k miles?

Kinja'd!!!1

Nah.

It will be either CAT C (salvage), 100k+ or a convertible.

So the moral of the story is buy a RS4 since they are around £12,000 and come as an estate.
